Here is how capture works: Littlebird reads the text and elements of your active window via macOS accessibility permissions that you grant yourself. That screenreading is how it builds context about your work. Nothing is collected without your permission, and you can pause context collection, exclude specific apps entirely, or delete captured data at any time.

The mechanism matters more than the label. Littlebird pays attention to the active window, the doc or site you are actually working in, and reads its text and elements through the accessibility permissions you approve during setup. You decide whether it runs at startup, and the pause control is always available.
What happens to what it reads is stated plainly on the privacy page: the app runs on your computer, and the memory it builds is encrypted and stored in the AWS cloud. Littlebird never sells your data and never trains models on it.
If a particular app should stay out of view, exclude it and Littlebird will not collect from it. Deletion controls work at any scale: everything, or just the last hour or day.
